Antalya:
I can wholeheartedly recommend the small and cozy Villa Tulipan located in Kalidibi Sokak 6, in Kaleici (the old town). The hotel is managed by Emmy, a Dutch lady, who made me feel extremely welcome when I stayed there. The rooms are good, with air condition and private bathrooms and the roof terrace is beyond description with its incredible view of the Antalya harbour and bay and the mountains beyond.

Charly’s Pension is a good place to stay, not the least because it has several covered and open-air levels of terraces which enable you to always find a perfect spot to hang out. Charly’s and Lale are owned by the same family. Several types of rooms are available, some with lake view and others without. A dormitory with reduced prices is available although none were staying there during my stay.
Candir/Yazili Canyoun:
Camping in the Yazili Canyon is not allowed which is as pity because the meadow mentioned in the St Paul Trail book is amazingly beautiful. I camped in the meadow for one night but when I returned later with the plan to stay a couple of nights there, I told the nice caretaker of the campsite just outside the canyon about my plan and he informed me that the canyon is out of bounds for camping. I decided to pitch my tent at the campsite and to hike from there into the canyon. It was fine but far from being as solitary as I had hoped. On the other hand I ended up socializing with a really nice Turkish family which was a great experience and I had the opportunity to watch the 2010 soccer World Cup final on the small television set in the campsite restaurant.
